SACRAMENTO, CA – Assemblyman Rich Gordon (Menlo Park), Chair of the Legislative Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) Caucus, and Assemblymember Tom Ammiano (San Francisco) released the following statement in response to the passing of San Francisco resident, long-time activist and LGBT Caucus honoree, Jazzie Collins. Ms. Collins passed away this morning at the age of 54.

LGBT Caucus Celebrates June 2013 as LGBT Pride Month And Honors Outstanding LGBT Californians

SACRAMENTO, CA – The California Legislative Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) Caucus celebrates June 2013 as LGBT Pride Month with the adoption of House Resolution 20 in the Assembly. The Senate counterpart, Senate Resolution 14, was similarly adopted.

Assemblyman Gordon’s statement on Harvey Milk Day

SACRAMENTO, CA - Assemblyman Rich Gordon (Menlo Park), Chair of the Legislative Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) Caucus, released the following statement on Harvey Milk’s Birthday. Harvey Milk was the first openly-gay elected official in California who served on the San Francisco Board of Supervisors. Harvey Milk, along with Mayor George Moscone, was assassinated in 1978. Harvey Milk would have been 83 years old today.
